Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup beef drippings or vegetable oil

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Make the Batter

Whisk together flour, milk, eggs, and salt until smooth. Let the batter rest at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.

Step 2: Preheat the Pan

Place 1 tsp of beef drippings or oil into each muffin tin well. Preheat in a 425°F (220°C) oven until the oil is shimmering hot.

Step 3: Bake

Quickly pour batter into the hot muffin wells (about halfway full). Bake for 20–25 minutes without opening the oven until puffed and golden.

Step 4: Serve Immediately

Serve hot with roast beef and gravy. Yorkshire puddings should be crisp on the outside and slightly tender inside.

Recipe Notes

🎯 Pro Tip: For the tallest rise, make sure your oil is sizzling hot before adding the batter!
